AEGD Bench Test Prep Course

Four Day Course (Thursday – Sunday)

AVAILABLE DATES:

Workshop Objectives:

The workshop features didactic and hands-on sessions.

Operative dentistry

  • Perform amalgam and composite preparations and restorations in the traditional mannequin labs.
  • Class II amalgam restoration.
  • Class II composite restoration.
  • Restorations of composite preparations using various forms of matrix bands.

RCT

  • Rubber dam application, anterior teeth access, cleaning, shaping and obturation, and Posterior teeth access, cleaning and shaping

Treatment planning

  • Review simple and complex treatment planning, caries risk assessment, sequencing of treatment plan, presentation of plan, informed consent, and modifications to treatment plan.

Periodontal Scaling

  • Learn how to prepare, anesthetize and control bleeding of soft and hard tissue prior to the procedure.

  • Perform efficient root planning and scaling following CDCA guidelines.

  • Learn how to evaluate soft and hard tissue after completion of the procedure.

  • Selection of the ideal instruments to get reliable results.

Treatment planning

  • Review simple and complex treatment planning, caries risk assessment, sequencing of treatment plan, presentation of plan, informed consent, and modifications to treatment plan.

Fixed Prosthodontics

  • Anterior Tooth Preparation for Metal-ceramic Crown (PFM)

  • Perform a preparation and fabricate a temporary restoration on a posterior tooth for a PFM restoration.

  • Perform a preparation and fabricate a temporary restoration on an anterior tooth for a full ceramic restoration.

Infection Control

  • Management of typodont in the simulation clinic with SDM infection control guidelines.

  • Restorations of composite preparations using various forms of matrix bands with emphasis on the use of sectional matrix.

Fee: $5,900

  • Includes all dental instruments and materials (HP and the instruments, mounting pole, and manikin, the typodont, SDS Bur Block with Burs, Replacement Teeth, Replacement Burs.)

  • Includes mock bench test and an individualized report of results

  • Includes daily breakfast & lunch

  • Includes certificate of completion.

2022-2023 Implant Continuum

Place and Restore Multiple Implants During this Expansive Course.

Join CDI’s faculty and world-renowned Clinicians for seven modules of Didactic, Hands-on, & Clinical Education in Implantology. Participants will spend 2 days in the classroom, per module, developing skills, learning techniques, and experiencing new technology. Live patient cases will be scheduled at the Participant’s convenience during the week. Earn 160 CE Credits in an approved ADA-CERP & AGD PACE accredited course.

  • Have hands on experience with surgical restorative kits and procedures

  • Recognize common causes of implant failure and complications

  • Understand ethical and risk management considerations for implant and related services

  • Understand the diagnosis and treatment planning using state-of-the-art technology
  • Learn and experience basic and advanced surgical and restorative techniques

  • Place and Restore Implants on pre-selected patients—both fixed and removable

Modules Overview:

Modules run 8:30am-4:30pm on Saturdays & Sundays (Meals Included). All courses take place within CDI’s state-of-the-art, renovated Training Facility

MODULE 1

History of Implantology

  • Basic Principles of diagnosis and treatment planning
  • The implant fixture-form & function
  • Surgery/Restorative Planning
  • Hands On: Surgical Kit Workshop

MODULE 2

Planning for Placement

  • Soft tissue concepts around implants vs natural teeth

  • Different Implant placement approaches (immediate vs early vs delayed) with a focus on immediate placement with/without functional loading

  • The emergence profile in implant therapy and rules of placing implants in the anterior esthetic region

  • Periimplantitis & Periodontitis and the proper management after placement

MODULE 3

Bone Biology & Wound Healing

  • Use of PRF technique in site development

  • Understanding bone biology basics

  • Pharmacology in wound healing

  • Hands on: Restorative Clinic & Phlebotomy

 

Imaging in Implantology

  • CBCT in diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Common Errors or Challenges in diagnosis
  • Pre-surgical soft tissue planning & periodontal considerations
  • Hands On: Carestream Imaging Software Workshop

MODULE 4

Bone Augmentation

  • Professional development from GBR to Gold Standard

  • Posterior maxilla, Sinus Lifts, and lateral deficiency

  • Posterial mandible and lateral augmentation

  • Autologous bone harvesting

Digital Workflow for the Edentulous Patient

  • Basic Principles of diagnosis and treatment planning

  • Showcasing digital workflow for fixed dentures with 3D printing
