What does the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Columbus program provide?

The Columbus program is the avenue for dental professionals to gain truly in-depth, real world experience on a wide variety of advanced procedures. The Columbus program focuses particularly on complex cases and will fully prepare doctors for a career that meets and exceeds the demands of complex, modern dentistry.

How many are accepted into the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Columbus program?

This is an exclusive program. Currently, CDI accepts four carefully vetted residents into the AEGD Columbus program each year.

Who is accepted into the Columbus AEGD program?

The Columbus AEGD program at CDI accepts both U.S. graduates as well as foreign-trained dentists.

What are the goals of the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Columbus program?

The Columbus program emphasizes the more complex and advanced dental skills needed for the proper diagnosis and treatment of patients. The program also focuses on care for patients with special needs and complicated medical histories.

The first year of the program emphasizes comprehensive dental care within a closely supervised environment. The second year of the Columbus AEGD program opens the residents to explore the more advanced dental procedures and take on more complex cases. The resident will again by closely monitored and supervised throughout the entirety of the second year.

With successful completion of the Columbus AEGD program, residents will be able to safely and effectively treat the needs of all dental patients, including patients with special needs as well as those that do not have access to regular dental care. Residents will be equipped with effective management and leadership skills, excel with team collaboration, and be able to take and provide constructive feedback for the good of the patient and practice.

This course also satisfies all necessary requirements of the Certification in IV Sedation.
